Dr. Sara Hermanson
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from the University of Illinois
Dr. Hermanson grew up in rural Illinois with a natural zeal for caring for animals. With the support of her family, her love of animals and veterinary medicine grew with her. She earned her B.A. in biology through a private undergraduate college, where she furthered her knowledge before being accepted to veterinary school. Dr. Hermanson attended the University of Illinois and graduated in 2014 with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree.
After graduating, Dr. Hermanson worked as a general practitioner in Illinois for seven years, during which time her interest and passion for veterinary dentistry grew. She decided to pursue a residency in dentistry after attending a dental conference and meeting several board-certified dentists, Dr. Niemiec included. She is thrilled to be able to pursue her passion under the mentorship of skilled dentists Dr. Skinner and Dr. Niemiec. Her favorite part of practicing dentistry is seeing the immense difference it makes in the comfort of her patients.
When she is not pursuing dental knowledge, Dr. Hermanson picks up one of many hobbies. She enjoys crochet, archery, and kickboxing and loves to learn new crafts and skills. However, Dr. Hermanson’s favorite things to do are spend time outdoors with her dog, Bitsy, cuddling with her cat, Kiwi, and playing fetch with her other cat, Falco.
