Dr. Su

National Taiwan University, DVM

Bio

I graduated from National Taiwan University with my DVM degree in 2016, though my passion for veterinary medicine began long before veterinary school. Growing up surrounded by animals — including five cats, two birds, two turtles, a rabbit, and countless fish — gave me a deep appreciation for the bond between pets and their families and inspired my lifelong dedication to animal care.

After graduation, I spent more than four years working in both general practice and emergency medicine throughout Taiwan and Hong Kong. These experiences helped me build a strong foundation in patient care, critical thinking, and compassionate client communication while managing a wide variety of medical and emergency cases.

Driven by a desire to continue growing professionally and pursue advanced training, I moved to the United States in 2021 to complete the PAVE program at Louisiana State University and earned my U.S. veterinary license in 2022.

Following licensure, I worked as a general practice and mixed emergency veterinarian at a busy 24/7 hospital in Dallas for three and a half years. During that time, I discovered a true passion for veterinary dentistry and oral surgery. I was drawn to the profound impact dental care can have on a pet’s comfort, health, and overall quality of life.

To further pursue this specialty, I attended numerous dental conferences and continuing education courses and completed externships and shadowing experiences at several specialty dental practices, including Animal Dental Center, Dallas Veterinary Dentistry & Oral Surgery, Flower Mound Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Center, Veterinary Dental Specialists, and Veterinary Dental Specialties.

In late 2025, I relocated to Irvine to begin formal dental specialty training at Veterinary Dental Specialties under the mentorship of Dr. Furman as I work toward board certification in veterinary dentistry.

Outside of veterinary medicine, I enjoy taking advantage of everything California has to offer, including snowboarding, swimming, basketball, hiking, and pickleball. I also value quieter moments spent at home playing board games and spending time with friends and family.
