Dr. Leslie Sirmons brings more than 30 years of experience in veterinary medicine to Veterinary Dental Specialties. After owning and operating an AAHA-accredited veterinary hospital for 25 years, she retired from full-time general practice but continued serving the profession through relief veterinary work in emergency medicine, urgent care, high-volume surgery, and general practice.

Throughout her career, Leslie has been recognized for her dedication to veterinary medicine and service to the profession. She was honored as the Texas Veterinary Medical Association Practitioner of the Year in 2013 and has participated in international veterinary outreach efforts, including a rabies vaccination mission in Africa. She has also enjoyed mentoring future veterinary paraprofessionals as an adjunct professor in the Austin Community College Veterinary Technology Program.

Today, Leslie serves as Office Administrator at Veterinary Dental Specialties, where she combines her extensive veterinary background with strong organizational and administrative skills. In this role, she supports the day-to-day operations of the practice and works closely with her husband, Dr. Sergio Hernandez, and the VDS team to help ensure an exceptional experience for patients, clients, referring veterinarians, and staff.

Outside of work, Leslie enjoys beekeeping, spending time outdoors, and learning to play the drums. She is passionate about lifelong learning, supporting veterinary teams, and helping both people and pets thrive.

After a lifetime in veterinary medicine, Leslie finds great fulfillment in supporting Dr. Hernandez's vision for Veterinary Dental Specialties. Her goal is to help ensure that every client, patient, referring veterinarian, and team member experiences the compassion, professionalism, and excellence that are at the heart of the practice's mission.
