Kiara was born, raised and still lives in New Orleans neighborhood of Mid-City. She has been in the veterinary field since 2012, starting at a general practice clinic as a kennel attendant. She quickly realized that animal healthcare and advocacy was her passion. She dedicated her efforts to gaining her knowledge and skills through practical experience in the roles she has held in veterinary medicine.

Kiara has been part of the VDS NOLA team since 2022. Kiara prides herself on compassionate patient care and values the relationships we build with pet parents. Kiara has been certified as a C.E.T. Dental Care Ambassador through Virbac Dental. She enjoys expanding her knowledge of animal oral health with the help and expertise of Dr. Ribka.

In her spare time Kiara enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She welcomed her first son, Dean, in August of 2023 with her wife Cindy. Kiara is first generation Guatemalan-American and enjoys celebrating her Guatemalan roots. She loves dancing, the outdoors, and swimming. She has two Pitbulls, Boo & Bali, and loves advocating for the breed.
